For sponsored meetups you will need to set up a Hackster Live page to share your events and collect RSVPs. However, we encourage you to have a meetup page with the same information to help advertise your events and increase community involvement.

When you create your meetup page, be sure to link it to your page on Hackster.

To start a Meetup group, click ‘Start a Meetup Group’ at the top of any page on Meetup.

Then follow these steps to customize your Meetup group:

  1. Choose your Meetup’s location.
  2. Choose your Meetup’s topics. Topics are important for helping the right members find your Meetup. We suggest the following:

Robotics, Makers, Hacking, Open Source Hardware, DIY (Do It Yourself), Internet of Things, Sensors, Arduino, 3D Printing, Microcontrollers, Home Automation, Drones, Wearable Technologies

  1. Agree to create real, face-to-face community.
  2. Choose a name for your Meetup. Call your meetup "Hackster Hardware Meetup - [CITY NAME]"
  3. Add your description.

Hackster is an online community for hardware hackers. By popular demand, we're also launching local project nights. Our goal is simple: help hardware makers and hackers from [CITY NAME] connect, share ideas, and build great things together!

  1. Choose what your members are called. - Hacksters
  2. Await approval. Once you’ve started your subscription, your Meetup will be live on meetup.com and you can start organizing right away. But before meetup announces it to the local community, it will be reviewed by their Community Team. The process typically takes a couple of days. Keep an eye out for an email in case meetup.com requires clarification about your Meetup.
